San Cassiano

San Cassiano is located at an altitude of over fifteen hundred metres, lodged at the foot of the Majestic Conturines mountain walls and between La Varella and Lagazuoi. It has all the typical charm of a mountain village in which nothing seems to disturb the peace, tranquility, well-being and charm. Winter and summer walk along the Armentarola valley floor, and among the Störes meadows are a pure delight, as are the great ‘Dei Larici’ walking trails, or those commonly used for ambulant meditation, like the highly popular “Klaus e Dorothea von der Flühe” walk, renowned for spectacular views of sunsets with the pink colour of Dolomite rock. The ‘Centro Fondo di Sciarè-Armentarola’ has an excellent bobsleigh run (the “Foram”) at Piz Sorega, in addition to managing to the 7.2 kilometre descent from Lagazuoi, from where skiers are then towed by a team of horses to hook up and continue the ski trail. In short, any holiday here is all about peace and well-being, in a world where new trends are appreciated just as much as old traditions and sport have the meaning of fun.
